Nikotel offers several different kinds of VoIP solutions. It does not appear that it should be used as a replacement for your traditional land line but rather a VoIP service to be used along with it (i could be wrong). I was impressed with their NIKOTALK service. It could be a good choice for those who want to keep their traditional phone line but use VoIP for cheap long distance calls. I'll outline a couple of Nikotel's consumer VoIP plans below:
NIKOTEL HOME PLAN SERVICE:
With this plan you keep your current phone carrier but with a small box they will provide you can use your your existing phone to make free calls worldwide to others within the NikoTel network or their partners. All other phones in the world can be called at some of the cheapest rates. There is no need to switch your phone carrier, incoming and emergency calls work as usual.
NIKOTALK PLAN:
This service involves some software added to you home pc. It's an impressive service that requires no hardware setup, no headsets, no talking on the pc, it works with any phone and you can use it anywhere!
Once installed on your system, just hit the "ALT"key twice to show NikoTalk. You will then enter your home phone, cell phone or office
number and the destination number you want to call. After clicking"Call" your phone will start ringing and you will be connected. That's all it takes!
NIKOTEL WINDOWS MOBILE PLAN:
This service uses NikoTalk on your cell phone running Windows Mobile. No SoftPhone needed.
NinkoTalk Widgets and NikoTalk Web Based Plan are also available.
Does this sound like something you could use?
